  • Grew Annual Sales: from $3M to >$175M
  • Grew Employment: from 30 to > 300
  • Grew Annual Tonnage: from 50,000 to > 1,000,000 tons per year
  • Created and managed a Stevedoring Division
  • Operated in Port Newark as the largest Bulk Products Stevedore in NY Harbor, (handled over 1M tpy, after successfully organizing and directing the removal of the International Longshoremen’s Association from our operation
  • Created and managed a Dismantling Division
  • Created and managed a Railroad Divison
    • Reconditioned and rebuilt freight cars for AAR interchange service in our 30 man car shop.
  • Designed a cost accounting system to develop standard costs.
  • Designed and implemented a management trainee program with 75% retention and success rate.
  • Implemented a computerized bidding system utilizing cost accounting systems and “work unit” inputs. Successfully won over 70% of sealed bids.
  • Implemented a Management Safety Program which lowered our Workmen’s Compensation rate to 50% of the industry standard.
  • Directed a Management Cost Containment program to annually reduce costs by over 5% per year.
  • Planned and performed the loading of the largest scrap cargo ever loaded, worldwide. 96,000 GT in Sept. 1995.
